MulTitel ASBL

MultiTel is a Belgian private, non-profit research centre, leading applied R&D activities for industry leaders (large groups, SMEs and spin-off companies). MultiT is a distinguished multidisciplinary Centre of Excellence with a fully independent legal status.

The centre is strategic partner to the industry for what concerns the development of know-how and innovation for a variety of technical domains including Photonics, Networking, Speech, Signal and Image Processing. Moreover MultiT is a technology transfer medium and founded six spin-off companies: Babel Technologies (now Acapela Group), IT-Optics, Smartwear, Acic, Polymedis and Tech4rail. MultiT provides a large number of services ranging from technical assistance to highly specialised trainings for the industry, including the design and development of pre-series such as: fibre lasers, optical passive components and sensors, optical amplifiers and WDM subsystems.

The Applied Photonics department is specialised in the development of high power fibre lasers and their applications (imaging and processing). The fibre laser group has already a large experience on European projects collaboration both in the 6th (e.g. Project NEXTGENPCF) and 7th (projects IMPROV or ALPINE, both on pulsed fibre laser sources) Framework Programs. MultiT is ISO certified.
